Little Dancers of Kelating

MAKE AN ENQUIRYBalinese Legong is recognised as part of the island's intangible cultural heritage, an art form of global cultural significance. Established in 2022, Little Dancers of Kelating was developed by Soori Foundation in collaboration with Kerambitan Palace and its dance studio. The programme has since grown to welcome more than 20 children from Kerambitan and Kelating, ranging from six years old to senior high school age.
As a fully funded cultural preservation programme, training takes place every Tuesday and Thursday under experienced Balinese dance teachers, ensuring regular access to professional instruction and rehearsal.
Soori Foundation supports the programme by funding teacher salaries and providing rehearsal space, training attire, performance costumes, and kamen. The young dancers also perform during special events at Soori Bali, allowing guests to experience Balinese Legong while encouraging the next generation to take pride in their cultural heritage.
The initiative recognises that cultural heritage can only survive when children have access to teachers, rehearsal opportunities, and meaningful stages on which to develop their skills. By investing in these foundations, Soori Foundation transforms cultural preservation in Bali into active participation and community empowerment.
